Francesco Bertoni is Head of the Lymphoma and Genomics Research Program and Vice-Director at the Institute of Oncology Research, in Bellinzona, Switzerland. Dr Bertoni completed his medical degree in 1994 and his postgraduate specialization in oncology in 1998 at the State University of Milan, Milan, Italy. Prior to his current position, he has worked at several institutions in Italy, Switzerland, and the UK.
Dr Bertoni’s research interests are on lymphoma genomics, the development of new anti-lymphoma agents, and molecular follow-up in lymphoma clinical trials. Dr Bertoni is a member of several societies including the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the European Hematology Association (EHA), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK).
Dr Bertoni currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Hematological Oncology, is on the editorial board of Leukemia and Lymphoma, and acts as a reviewer for many journals. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals including Annals of Oncology, Blood, British Journal of Haematology, Haematologica, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature. He has co-authored many book chapters and was Co-Editor of the book entitled “MALT Lymphomas”.
